Six out of seven species of sea turtles are either threatened or endangered. One of their top threats is consumption of their eggs. To protect turtle nesting beaches, there are hundreds of small organizations working on small budgets with little access to grants from the small number of donors who support this kind of work.

But there is hope, lots of it! We launched Billion Baby Turtles in 2013 to fund community-based organizations to pay local staff to patrol the beaches and move the eggs to safe places, away from poachers, to be released when born. Our business sponsors are the biggest reason for this success.

Our Billion Baby Turtles Program Stats:

• Hatchlings Saved: More than 6 million at 50+ nesting beaches, through our network of 40 conservation partners.

• Grants Made: More than 150 grants to conservation organizations totaling more than US $750,000.

• Average Hatchlings Saved Per Year (2019 - 2021): More than 1 million per year
